As per the directives of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Handwritten passports are no longer valid for international travel. Indian nationals who have handwritten passports may have MRP (machine readable passport) issued by applying for a new passport with the requisite form and fees etc. 


New passport 

New passport is required when the old passport has completed its validity or when a new passport booklet is necessitated on exhaustion of pages or account of change in particulars like name, appearance, etc. 

 Documents required: 

  1. Duly filled in application form
  2. Existing passport along with photocopy thereof
  3. Four photographs (2 inches X 2 inches) against a light background showing full frontal view of the face.
  4. Copy of resident permit 

Fees: G$15,400.00 or US$ 75.00 (for a 36 page booklet) +US$2.00

         G$ 20,400.00 or US$ 100.00 (for a 60 page booklet) +US$2.00

Ordinary passport for children below 15 years of age: G$ 10,400.00 or US$ 50.00 +US$2.00

Renewal of passport (if the passport had been issued for short validity) 

Documents required: 

  1. Duly filled in application form
  2. Present passport and a photocopy thereof
  3. Two photographs (2 inches X 2 inches)
  4. A copy of resident permit/valid visa

Miscellaneous passport services (Change in address, inclusion of spouse’s name, etc.)


Documents required: 

  1. Duly filled in Miscellaneous Services application form
  2. Current passport with photocopy thereof
  3. Copy of resident permit/visa
  4. Documents in support of change required 

Fee: G$ 5,400.00 or US$ 25.00 +US$2.00

Duplicate passport in lieu of damaged passport/lost passport 

Documents required: 

  1. Passport application form (five copies)
  2. Additional details form (five copies)
  3. Eight photographs (2 inches X 2 inches) against a light background showing full frontal view of the face
  4. Photocopy of lost/damaged passport (if available)
  5. Copy of resident permit/visa
  6. Police report in case of lost passport 

Fee: G$ 30,400.00 or US$ 150.00 + US $2.00 - 36 pages

Fee: G$ 35,400.00 or US$ 175.00 +US$2.00 – 60 pages
