Fully funded Hindi Scholarship Courses

for International Students

under the ICCR – Cultural Exchange Programme

Scholarships for Students to learn Hindi are available under the Cultural Exchange Programme offered by the India Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for the academic year 2018-2019.

  2. Scholarships are available under this programme with tuition fees and return international airfare.
  3. The High Commission encourages all suitably qualified persons to apply in order to avail of these Scholarships.
  4. Last date for submission of applications (along with 1 photograph and a photocopy of their passport) to the Mission is Monday, April 16, 2018.


The High Commission of India would like to invite applications from Guyanese Nationals for scholarships offered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR), Government of India for the academic session 2018-2019 under the following programmes:

  1. The General Scholarship Scheme (GSS) is one of the most important popular schemes of the ICCR for foreign students. 499 scholarships are offered annually to nationals of developing and non developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. We are offering UG, PG, B.Tech., M.Phil, Ph.D. & Post Doctoral Courses under the Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme. Nine scholarships are available under this programme, with return international airfare, tuition, stipend, contingent grant, house rent allowance/ accommodation, thesis and dissertation expenses covered by the Government of India. (Please note that Scholarships for medical studies such as MBBS, BDS or for medical research leading to Ph.D. degrees are not offered under GSS).
  2. Applications are to be filled online at A recent passport size photograph not more than 3.5x4.5cm (25kb) should be uploaded on the application form. Copies of all academic qualifications, certificates and mark sheets, including those relating to school leaving examination along with a certificate of physical fitness in the prescribed form, recommendations / character certificates from existing school and certified copy of bio-data page of applicant’s valid passport are to be uploaded also.
  3. A printed and signed copy of the Application along with copies of all documents uploaded are to be submitted to High Commission of India not later than January 15, 2018.
